What snacks and treats should we bring for the children?

The keyword here is proteins.

The children that you will meet in our Children’s Homes are like children anywhere, they love sweet treats! Most of the children will ask you for “bon bon” (candy) but we would much rather your treats for them be full of proteins and healthy fats and oils. Give them something that their bodies need to grow healthy and strong.

Some treats that you may consider bringing with you:

  • Peanut Butter (This is number one on our list of high protein treats.)
  • Peanuts
  • Almonds
  • Roasted Sunflower Seeds
  • Beef Jerky
  • Health Food Bars (Choose ones that are low in sugar and high in nuts or fruits)
  • Peanut Butter Crackers

Remember that you are still giving the children a treat and something that they will enjoy.
