Dear Partners in Ministry:
As 2013 draws to an end, we want to again thank you for your partnership as you have helped us minister to thousands of Haitians with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have seen the power of God move mightily in these past twelve months as over 3500 people came to the saving knowledge of our Savior. The Holy Spirit is at work as it says in Acts 1:8- “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and you the ends of the earth.”
Here are just a few highlights of what God has done in Gonaives, Cayes and Jeremie.
-ESMI welcomed one of our newest ministry partners who is assisting us in caring for the 100 children at the Fayeton Children’s Village.
-Gonaives also hosted 5 missionary teams including a medical team that saw over 400 people
–Thankful for partners who helped in upgrading this site: repainting, fixing walls, installing solar lights, donations of school furniture, etc.
-The Presbytery in the Artibonite Department is growing strong with the pastors meeting bi-monthly and strategizing for church planting in the northern department.
-In January, the goal is to open a new seminary campus in Fayeton with 80 students already registered in the Bachelor of Divinity program
-Thankful for all our medical, dental and construction teams that came and “loved on” the orphans at all six campuses and also ministered to those surrounding communities.
-We praise God for Give Hope and the Aquaponics system being installed at the Cambry Ministry Site. When completed, it will eventually produce approximately 600 pounds of tilapia and 2,500 pounds of vegetable monthly.
-God is using and blessing Louis’ involvement as a liaison between the government and the evangelical churches. His prayer is to see future political leaders evolve from the church.
–Praise the Lord that on Monday, November 4, the “Universite de Jeremie: Le Connaitre et Le Faire Connaitre”, University of Jeremie: To Know Him and to Make Him Known, opened its doors with five fields of study: agriculture, business, communication, education, and theology.
-In October, we saw the dedication of the dormitories and the Administration Building which is also the new home of the ESMI Headquarters.
-We praise God for our ministry partner who provided the funds to purchase a strategic piece of property in the city of Jeremie for a future church plant
Looking Forward to 2014- “Transforming Haiti One City at a Time”
Here are a few of ESMI’s 2014 goals as we reflect on the 4 Es:
-Evangelism: to plant 6 new churches and create a fourth presbytery in northern Haiti
-Education: to upgrade 3 existing schools to quality standard and to raise $30,000 to provide hot lunch meals for 1,500 students
-Empathy: to host 15 medical teams and to purchase 2 used school buses for the orphan sites
-Economic Development: to establish two chicken farms in Cayes and Gonaives.
We thank you for your ongoing prayers and financial support in seeing the Gospel preached across the island of Haiti. We look forward to your continued partnership in 2014.
