Dear Praying Friends:
Thank you for praying for this team. The medical team of 19 from Florence Baptist arrived safely in Jeremie late Saturday night after a very long drive from Port-au-Prince to Jeremie. Even though the night was short for the team , they were up and ready for the 2-3 hour worship service at Versailles. People were crunched together under the shaded area where the tarp covered. Others found shade under trees on the outside and listened from there. God’s message of encouragement was spoken and 19 people believed on the Lord Jesus and were saved! To God be the glory!
Today, Monday, clinic was set up in the ESMI Administration Building. Folks began gathering early. By 9:00am there were already 150 people waiting.
The patients came from the surrounding area and as far as Bonbon, a small remote city on the outskirts of Jeremie . The team saw 328 patients today and 40 of these patients prayed for salvation in Christ!
Thank you for making this all possible! Because of your donations, ESMI hired about 20 moto-taxis from Bonbon to bring in those who were ill. In Haiti, at least 3 people can ride on a motor bike without a problem. The road to Bonbon is not asphalted and so motor bikes are the quickest way in and out the further west one goes away from the city of Jeremie.
Many thanks also to the leadership of Florence Baptist who were originally scheduled to go to Gonaives but having heard of the people’s plight in Jeremie, were ready to serve elsewhere.
Thanks also to all the medical professionals on the team who have taken time from their work to serve. The people were blessed both physically and spiritually today.
Tomorrow, the University bus, a yellow school bus, will go into the city of Jeremie and church members of the Pastoral League will be transported from the Baptist church there to the ESMI HQ campus. We anticipate another large group. Pray for the team’s strength for these next coming days because as the word gets around, more and more people will come. Pray also for church leaders and pastors as they pray with each patient before they leave. May God’s Holy Spirit be evident as we partner together in serving the people. Still so much more to be done as we rely upon Him!
