Dear Praying Friends:
We praise the Lord that the children returned to their campus! The HQ campus was proving to be a health hazard with so many others being sheltered there, and the fear of cholera was high. The Lundi Children’s Village looks totally different for the kids. All the trees with their beautiful foliage are gone. Still a large number of ruined buildings around. For us adults this could be depressing. But at the same time, the children see that the land has been cleaned up, and little by little, as the Lord provides, the hope is to have this village fully restored. Continue to pray with us toward that end. Pray for God’s provision in rebuilding all ten homes; the school so that classes can resume on November 7th, as stated by the Ministry of Education; the cafeteria; the church and the medical clinic. Lots to be done but God is more than able.
The medical team saw over 200 people today and so had a shorter day. This is only because a truck broke down in the road to the city and made the road impassable. There were people waiting at the Baptist church. They will return tomorrow. Never a dull moment when doing ministry in Haiti and having to deal with transportation! Pray that the road will be cleared and all will go well in transporting the community in downtown Jeremie.
With the shorter day, the team visited the children at Lundi. Here are a few photos:
Friends, you have made the above possible with your prayers and gifts as you’ve partnered with us these past three weeks. Thank you for kneeling, standing and walking with us in prayer. Truly, we appreciate all that God has done and will continue to do because of your partnership with ESMI in serving the Haitian people at such a time as this! To God be the glory!
