As I write now, there is a plane on land in Jeremie making sure that the children of the Lundi and Emmanuel Villages have enough food and water. Thanks to the Global Orphan Project for making this possible!
ESMI started distributing food yesterday once we saw the donations coming in. Food and water are the greatest needs now. Yesterday we bought about $30k of food but so much more is needed. Be assured that 100% of your gift will go to purchase rice, oil, beans, sugar, etc. all in bulk and getting the food to the people in the neediest places. ESMI has established 8 distribution sites with our affiliated churches throughout the Gran-Anse state: The Marketplace Church in downtown Jeremie, the Versailles Church, the church at ESMI HQ, Emmanuel/Chateau Church, Gommier Church, Roseau Church, Bonbon Church, and Abricot Church.
On behalf of ESMI’s board and those we serve in Haiti, Dony would like to thank you for your donations in the past 24 hours. But much more still needs to be done. We haven’t yet heard the worst of what has happened in Haiti since Matthew struck havoc. Here’s the video from Dony:
Here are two videos of what the land looks like now:
And despite so desperate a situation, once the people see a plan, they see hope, and so there is laughter as they work to serve their community. This video shows just that as food is distributed at the Versailles Church!
We still need your help to purchase more food and keep going into communities that aid has not yet reached. You can donate online: DONATE NOW or send a check to: ESMI, c/o The Keyes Company, 2121 SW 3rd Avenue, Suite 601, Miami, FL 33129.
Thank you for your partnership in serving the people of Haiti in yet another catastrophic situation.
“The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever.”
PS. A very special thanks to Frantz St. Germain, Dony and Louis’ younger brother who has helped me tremendously in putting the videos together. Lengthier videos will be posted on the ESMI Facebook page.
