Lundi Children's Village
is one step closer to her dream: MD behind her name
Sherline Valeriste was one of the original 70 children to move into the Lundi Children's Village when it opened in 2010. We have had the privilege of watching her grow and mature over the years.
Sherline has always lead her peers by quiet example. After being invited to eat with teams, you can often find her washing dishes in the kitchen. This is just one example of her servant's heart.
Against what some would say are insurmountable circumstances, Sherline finished high school. After at first not passing an exam that would allow her to move onto university studies, she did not give up. You would find her up early studying as the other young ladies left for school. Her persistence and determination paid off.
We are excited to report that Sherline has just arrived at the Facultad de Cienas Medcas, a medical university, in Santiago de Cuba where she will participate in a five year program to obtain her medical license.
Initially, she will spend six months learning Spanish. Please join us in praying for her well-being and success as she pursues this wonderful opportunity.
We love this kid! He is the sweetest, most helpful child. For
those of you that have been to Lundi, you will remember that Peter was always
a quiet leader among the kids. He set the example of behavior and was always
looking for ways to help our team, Madamn Wance, and the house mamas. Since
Peter has moved to the transition home, Rechel has stepped up to fill Peter's
shoes. It is exciting watching him navigate this new season of life.
