Worshiping God in the Midst of Disaster Sunday, August 22, 2021
Sunday, August 22, 2021

"Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped....In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong." ~Job 1:20,22 (ESV)
Dear Friends,

Are you wondering how our brothers and sisters are doing today? How will they gather for worship? What will their services be like? Well, the video below shows what is happening at BonBerger, Les Cayes, where Louis St. Germain is the pastor. As I write tonight, the church community is gathering for a time of praise and worship. They did just that this morning but that was not enough. So tonight AND for the next 7 nights, this is what will be happening at BonBerger downtown Les Cayes! God is still worthy of praise in the midst of such disaster, and our Haitian brothers and sisters are doing just that! To Him be the glory!

After writing the very first update last Saturday, a dear co-laborer said, "Surely, Haiti must be the Biblical Job of the nations!" I went back to look in Scripture on what Job did after he received the news that he had lost his family, his property, everything he owned just in one day. Don't missed that last word in Job1:20...worshiped!!

At Emmanuel Children's Village, here is the response of a care-giver, when asked how she was doing after sleeping outside with the children, not far from the collapsed gazebo: "In Jesus, we are perfectly fine."

This is the faith and resilience of our brothers and sisters in Haiti on display! They have lost their homes, their family members, and whatever little they possessed; but like Job, they are staying in worship because they know that in Jesus, they are perfectly fine. Soli Deo Gloria!
